The winners include more than 50 academicians, many academician candidates, and top scholars such as national Jieqing.
Approved by the CPC Central Committee in 2017, the National Innovation Prize was jointly established by the China Association for Science and Technology, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council to recognize outstanding scientific and technological workers and teams who have made outstanding contributions in basic research and frontier exploration, major equipment and engineering research, achievement transformation, innovation and entrepreneurship, science popularization and social services. The "National Innovation Award" is an important part and supplement of the national science and technology award system, an organic connection between the national science and technology awards and the major talent program, and is regarded as a science and technology talent award second only to the national highest science and technology award.
