In order to strengthen the cooperation between SZU and Huawei, and to provide a platform for young teachers to communicate and cooperate, SZU and Huawei held a SZU-Huawei seminar on "FTTR Indoor Antenna Technology" on 23rd April 2023 in the International Conference Hall of SZU. Professor Xie Weixin, former President of SZU, Zhang Jiefeng, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology of SZU, Feng Zhiyong, Minister of Huawei Optical Product Line, Dr Wang Xiang, Huawei's technical expert, Professor He Yejun of SZU, Dr Shao Jinjin, Huawei's technical expert, Qin Satellite, Huawei's technical expert, Li Zi, and Huawei's engineer Xiong Hao; Associate Professor Wang Kaixu of Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen), Associate Professor Xiao Yu of Sun Yat-sen University (Shenzhen), and Hu Zhenyu of Guangdong University of Technology. Associate Professor Wang Kaixu from Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen), Xiao Yu from Sun Yat-sen University (Shenzhen), Associate Professor Hu Zhenxin from Guangdong University of Technology (GDIT), Associate Professor Chen Zhuozuo from GDIT, Associate Professor Chen Xiang from Sun Yat-sen University (Shenzhen), Associate Professor Ge Lei from Shenzhen University (Shenzhen), Dr Zhang Long, Dr Feng Botao, Dr Zhang Xiao, Prof. Wang Shihui, Dr Li Wenting, Dr Ren Xue, and Huawei's senior engineers He Chao and Liu Jie attended the workshop. The seminar was held online and offline simultaneously, in which the online audience reached 7,334 (from the statistics of live broadcasting platforms provided by Radar Journal: including video number, B station and Kouxiang).

The SZU-Huawei "FTTR Indoor Antenna Technology" seminar, featuring "old, middle-aged, young, transferring, helping, and recruiting talents", included 9 keynote speeches and 2 round-table forums. On behalf of SZU and Huawei, Mr Zhang Jiefeng and Mr Feng Zhiyong delivered welcome speeches respectively. Prof He Yejun of SZU presided over the opening ceremony and made a concluding speech. Zhang Long and Ge Lei of Shenzhen University, and Xiong Hao, Shao Jinjin and Li Zi of Huawei made reports. Huawei technical expert Dr. Wang Xiang elaborated the research background and significance of FTTR, FTTR (Fiber to The Room) consisting of fiber to the building and fiber to the room is a new type of fiber optic access technology, which can transmit fiber optic signals indoors, achieve high-speed and stable network access, and improve the user experience, and the combination of antenna technology and FTTR is the future research direction in academia and industrial session. Other experts proposed new theories, methods and technologies for indoor antennas, including millimeter-wave circularly polarizelens antennas, patch antennas, reconfigurable antennas, helical antennas, artificial electromagnetic structures, large-scale array antennas, dual-polarizeantennas and so on.

The seminar further promoted the cooperation between SZU and Huawei in industry-university-research. Industry-university-research is mutual, hand in hand to travel the world. Through the cooperation between industry, academia and research, taking the advantages of Huawei and universities, we can collaborate to achieve the innovation and application of "FTTR indoor antenna technology", transform the scientific research results of universities into real productivity, and provide strong support for China's independent innovation.
