Dianyuan Fan

Dianyuan Fan, male, Han nationality, born in February 1939, academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, professor of Shenzhen University, director of the Science and Technology Committee of Shanghai Institute of Optical Mechanics, expert of the National XXX Major Project Committee, member of National Defense Science and Technology Committee of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, executive director of the Optical Engineering Society of China, director of the Ministry of Education's Joint Laboratory for International Cooperation in Photovoltaic Science and Technology of 2D Materials. In 1962, he graduated from the Physics Department of Peking University; in 1966, he studied at the Institute of Electronics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Shanghai Institute of Optical Mechanics for postgraduate studies, and worked at the Shanghai Institute of Optical Mechanics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences after graduation. From 1980 to 1987, he was a member of the overall technical team of the Shanghai Institute of Optical Mechanics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the person-in-charge of the laser system of the Shenguang-Ι. In 1989-2002, he was the deputy director of the Joint Laboratory of High Power Laser Physics of Shanghai Institute of Opto-mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. In 1995, he was elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. In 1996-2001, he was a member of the Expert Group of 416 Themes of the National High-tech 863 Program, and the leader of the Overall Expert Group on Technology. In 2001, he became a member of the Expert Committee of the Eighth Field of the National High-Tech 863 Program, and the Chief Engineer of the Overall Technical Group of the "ShenguangШ" device.

Academician Dianyuan Fan has long been engaged in the development and application of the "Shenguang" series of high-power laser systems, presided over a number of major and key funds of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and participated in the National "863" Program and national major special projects, and has achieved a series of international advanced achievements in the field of optical engineering. He has been awarded the Chen Jiageng Prize, Guanghua Engineering Science and Technology Prize, the First Prize and Second Prize of National Scientific and Technological Progress, the Second Prize of Scientific and Technological Progress of the Ministry of Education and other scientific and technological achievements, as well as the honorary titles of National Young and Middle-aged Experts with Outstanding Contributions, National Outstanding Scientific and Technological Workers, and Advanced Workers of the National 863 Program.
